Managing Public Holidays

This article is for shift supervisors, managers and business administrators.
This feature is available on desktop and tablet.

Public holidays differ from country to country and sometimes from region to region within the same country. With TeamUltim you can manage a list of public holidays for a particular calendar year for the same region where your business address is assigned to.

Go to "Settings" in the main navigation and scroll to "Public Holidays". Open the public holidays manager and select the calendar year you want to manage. If there is already a list of holidays for that year, you will be allowed to edit the existing list. After selecting the year, the system will check if any curated lists exist for the country in which your business resides. If there are curated lists, you will be offered to choose one. If no curated lists exist, you will then proceed straight to the list editor.

The following countries have curated lists of public holidays:

  • Austria
  • Belarus
  • Belgium
  • France (2 regions)
  • Germany (all 16 states)
  • Luxembourg
  • Switzerland (one general list)

Choosing a curated (predefined) list will still let you add further holidays to it, but will not allow deleting the predefined holidays from it. It is still the quickest and easiest way to add official public holidays to your schedule.

You have an option to start from a blank list, which means you will need to add every holiday to this list yourself. On the right of the list editor, you will see two options:
- either you select from the list of predefined dates (some holidays are celebrated across the world), or
- add a new custom holiday yourself

If you choose to add a custom holiday, you will need to give it a name and the exact date.

After the list is ready, save it – and you are done.

Now the system will track the public holidays you have previously defined. Such days will be marked in the schedules, but also the dashboard widget will announce a holiday three week in advance, so you and your team have enough time to get prepared for it if needed.

We update curated lists for the next calendar year around August of the running year (in August 2020 we have updated the curated lists for 2021).
