Schedule Health
What is Schedule Health?
Schedule Health is the indicator that helps shift administrators understand how well the current schedule meets your team's internal planning rules. The Schedule Health is available in the day, week and month calendar views when using the Location view mode. Shown as a percentage 0-100% it uses colors – from grey to red to orange to green to indicate the overall score for a selected view period. The score is based on the scheduling rules which can be customized in the Business Settings of the app under "Policy" section.

Why Should Shift Admins Use It?
Schedule Health is a valuable tool for spotting scheduling inconsistencies before publishing. It evaluates compliance with predefined rule policies—such as minimum coverage, priority shifts, and maximum availability per employee. These rules can be defined for individual locations or applied globally across all locations.
It also saves time by reducing the need for manual checks, helping shift administrators quickly identify gaps and ensure schedules meet business needs reliably.
How is Schedule Health Calculated?
For performance reasons, health scores are not updated in real time. A shift admin must manually trigger the score calculation, which is then processed in the background and delivered once complete.

One key difference from the coverage score is that Schedule Health includes both published and unpublished shifts. This allows shift administrators to refine the schedule and maximize the score before publishing and notifying the team.
Once calculated, the score can be refreshed at any time. The Schedule Health panel will also display the timestamp of the most recent calculation.
Understanding the Score
Each scheduling rule carries equal weight. For example, if five rules are defined, each fulfilled rule contributes 20% to the total score. However, rules such as minimum coverage and priority shifts are dynamic and adjust gradually depending on the number of required shifts. The final score is the average of daily scores over the selected period. Here's an example:
Let's say the first week of the month has a score of 100% while every other of the 4 weeks of the same month have the score of 20% each. This means that the overall score for the month is 100+(4 x 20) = 180. Divided by 5 weeks the average score for the month is 36%. So in the month view the score will be shown as 36%, the first week will be shown as 100% and every other week will be showing 20%.
Dealing with Violations
To review scheduling rule violations, click on the Schedule Health indicator and select "Open violation details." In the sidebar modal, violations will be listed and grouped either by date (default) or by violation type. Shift administrators can use this information to evaluate inconsistencies and make the necessary adjustments to improve schedule compliance.
