Copying, Pasting and Deleting Shifts

This article is for shift supervisors, managers and business administrators.
This feature is available on desktop and tablet.

In the main menu click on Schedule. Here, you can copy and paste shifts from one week (or day) to another. This way, you can easily set up entire shift schedules for the coming weeks or months.

Just keep in mind that copied/cut shifts can be pasted only within the same location when the schedule calendar is in location view, and only for a given employee when working in team view. Copying a shift for a given employee from one location to another location does not work.

For an entire week

In the schedule calendar, go to Month view.
In the margin to the left of the calendar, use the small arrow in the week section to open the drop-down menu.

Your options are:

  • Copy all
  • Cut all
  • Delete all
  • Paste

For example, if you have to reschedule an entire week, use "Delete all" to begin afresh.
If you want to move an existing shift schedule for all employees (in location view) or all locations (in team view) from one week to another, use "Cut all", move to another week, and paste all shifts with one click to create a new schedule.

For an individual day

This can be done in Month or Week view.
Move to a specific day and use the small arrow next to the date to open the drop-down menu.

You have the same options as above (copy, cut, paste, delete) and additionally you can

  • Add a shift and
  • Add a note for that day.

For example, if your ten employees on a specific day are a good team, use "Copy all" and paste this team to work together on other days.
Add additional people with the option "Add shift" to a particular day.
Use the handy feature "Add note" for comments or instructions on a particular day. The note can be visible for everybody in all locations or it can be restricted to only a certain location and selected employees.

For an individual employee

This can be done in location view, in all calendar views.
Select the entry of a certain employee and use the small drop-down arrow next to the name. Your options are to copy, cut, delete or edit the shift of this employee.
Use the shift option "Edit" to change the shift times.
