Swapping Shifts: Add a New Swap Request
Open Shift Swaps via the main navigation menu. You can also take a shortcut from the dashboard where shift swap requests are already displayed.
This shift swap feature offers the possibility to post requests for shift swapping which can be bid on by your colleagues.
Requests from your colleagues
If someone else has requested a shift swap the post will be listed in the Shift Swaps section.
You see a red dot next to Shift Swaps in the main navigation menu.
=> The red dot indicates that there are one or more requests which are yet to be confirmed.
Go and check it out! It might be just for that day where you wished you could be off work.
You will see the button "Make bid". If you click on it, the colleague who requested the swap will see your name as a bidder. A shift supervisor can confirm whether the shift swap is going to happen.
=> The shift swap entry now shows your name. The button "Make bid" is gone.
Your colleague also sees your name and can close the request. The red dot indicating an open request will disappear from the main menu if all open requests have been resolved.
Now everything goes as planned.
Request a shift swap for yourself
Use the button at the top of the site to add a swap request.
=> Your work shifts will be listed.
Tick the shift you want to swap for another day.
Fill in a cause and an optional short note and confirm with the green button at the top of the page.
=> Your new requests will be listed and with them the red dot will appear again in the main menu to get your colleagues attention.
Now, it's up to your colleagues to bid on your requests. You will see who bid on what date and a manager can confirm or decline the request.
